Key Sectors

High performing key sectors that are driving our economy

Stirling has a strong and diverse local economy with particular strengths in Financial Services, Digital Technology, Food and Drink and Tourism. Within these sectors Stirling offers world-class innovation in complementary specialisms including aquaculture, big data, financial technologies and digital health.

Major players such as Prudential, HSBC, Capita, Graham's Family Dairies, Iberico Foods and Maxxium UK sit alongside smaller businesses such as Dovetail Games, DogF.sh Mobile and Peacock Technology to produce an economy founded on the strengths of our traditional sectors and rapidly growing through the emergence of new sectors.

Although there are particular sector strengths, Stirling's global connectivity, talented and flexible workforce, highly collaborative business support partnership and superb natural and built environment ensures that this is a place where businesses operating in almost any sector can thrive.
