Stirling Management School is pleased to announce that three third year students have been shortlisted for the Marketing Society’s Star Marketing Student Award.
Alexander Bergstrom and Monika Gopal who are both completing the (BA Hons) in Marketing and Sophie Brown who is studying (BA Hons) in Business Studies and Marketing, will attend the Star Awards Gala Dinner on Thursday 9 June 2016. The winner will be awarded a three month paid placement at Maxxium, a premium liqueur and spirit brand based in Stirling’s Castle Business Park.
Six Universities from across Scotland nominated students to participate in an Apprentice Day event organised by award sponsor Maxxium. During the day students had to tackle a number of tasks developed by marketing agency Golley Slater. Following the Apprentice Day the Marketing Society announced the three top students from the day who would be shortlisted for the 2016 Star Marketing Student Award.
It is very unusual for the entire shortlist to all be students from the one university. Therefore having all three from Stirling is an exceptional achievement and demonstrates the quality of learning and teaching at the University.
Professor Julie Tinson, Head of Marketing and Retail Division within the Stirling Management School said; “This is a fantastic achievement for the three students from our marketing and business studies and courses. We are so proud of them! This competition has shown that relevant industry skills are being developed in the modules and through the related activities on offer in the Division. These students are excellent ambassadors for the University and their success reflects their enormous potential and hard work.”
